WebLink Enhancements
Building upon our annual surveys, client suggestions, and the latest technology, we are proud to announce several major WebLink enhancements! We believe they will help make your online activities much easier and more successful. Please read below to learn more.
Note: Some of the enhancements such as enhanced fraud protection are automatically activated, but applying some of them (noted with an asterisk) to current forms requires configuration by a WebLink implementation specialist at our standard hourly rate. Please call (800-748-6639) to schedule. 
Single Page Donation Form*
Sample Form
WebLink now supports one-page donation forms (view sample: www.donorperfect.com/singleform) where the donor’s contact information, gift and payment information can all be collected on one page. Reducing the steps for a donor can make the process clearer and reduce the likelihood that a donor will stop before completing the donation process. This is a great option if your organization doesn’t need to offer donors the ability to make multiple gifts.
Item Quantity Page*
The new Item Quantity Page enables you and your constituents to see the number of items or spots you have remaining in your online store, special event, or any other item for which you need to track quantities. This information is displayed on a separate page that is limited to the primary form, and can be viewed without having to complete the form. 
The example below demonstrates how each item is associated with a particular form, and is broken down by section. It lists the item name and how many remaining items are available.
Increased Protection from Fraudulent Credit Card Activity
Some criminals have been targeting nonprofit donation forms to test if stolen credit cards are still valid. Our enhancement makes it significantly more difficult for fraudsters to use your WebLink page for stolen credit card testing. Our new procedures identify this activity and enable us to block the IP address of the individual committing the fraudulent activity.

WebLink Enhancements
Constituent Login Feature* (DonorPerfect Online Only)
This functionality allows you to offer donors, members, or other constituents' forms a login feature. By using a combination of their Donor ID and their Last Name, First Name, or Email Address, the form will search for their record in DonorPerfect Online.  If a match is found, the constituent’s information will be pre-populated into the online form – saving the user the effort of having to enter it themselves. This is great for speeding membership renewal and other online interactions with current constituents.
Duplicate Matching (DonorPerfect Online Only)
Eliminate the creation of duplicate records in DonorPerfect Online when importing from WebLink. The system can check for duplicates based on any combination you select from the following five fields:
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Street Address
  • Zip Code
  • Email Address
You can also specify the breadth of comparison by setting how many characters to match for each field. For instance, comparing just one character of the first name would allow you to find variations such as Rob, Robert (but not Bob).
Note that when you compare on multiple fields like zip code and last name, matches are only found when the value matches for both fields. 
Match settings are configured on the Match Options tab in the WebLink Review & Acceptance Center.

Duplicate Matching (continued)
For example, if you bring in a record from John Marsh, the following matches may be displayed:
When potential duplicates are identified, you can choose one of three processing options:
Insert as New – Creates a new donor record. 
Hold – Not ready to bring into DonorPerfect Online (e.g. typed in all CAPs, incorrect data, etc.). This will place the record back into the pending column for review and edit.
Update – The selected record in DonorPerfect Online will be updated with the new information. The gifts will be added to the records gift history.

Order Management System* (DonorPerfect Online Only)
We can now create Items that are stored as an Order Record (O), and tagged as an Order Type in DonorPerfect Online.  Previously, you could only bring in a Pledge (P) or Gift (G). Now, if you provide promotional items and you have the Order Management Module, you can bring these items into DonorPerfect Online and properly categorize them.
Note: This is considered a complex form which will require a price quote.
DonorPages Integration
WebLink works in conjunction with DonorPages, our new social network fundraising tool that allows your constituents to create web pages under your control, and then contact their social network to collect donations, registrations and more. 
We improved the overall integration between DonorPerfect, WebLink and DonorPages by modifying our backend data storage of registration data. This data is now stored in "Other Information", which will allow DonorPerfect to keep a historical account of a fundraiser's activity.   
An example of how you can use this information is to generate a list of everyone who set up a special event team page last year, and invite them to participate again this year.
Data Tracking via Query String*
Information can now be passed as part of your WebLink URL to automatically populate fields on your form.  For instance, you can improve your campaign tracking by including data about the solicitation source or the page that a donor was on when they clicked to give a donation. Those clients with appropriate technical skills can even create custom URLs that pass along demographic information such as the name and address, which pre-populates the appropriate fields on the form, and reduces donor data entry time. This data can be placed into fields that may be either visible or hidden on your form. The following example shows how the source of this prospect (HOMEPAGE) will be brought over:

WebLink Enhancements
Calculate Sales Tax*
WebLink forms can now be set to calculate the sales tax for any taxable items sold, such as a ledger item (e.g. t-shirt), or other order item.
Note: Sales tax will be calculated only on the selected item, which in this example is hats and shirts. Currently, only one tax percentage can be applied, regardless of the state in which the purchaser resides. The same percentage is used for all items. See the example below for how sales tax is displayed on the form.
The label can be changed from Total Tax to Sales Tax
(or Convenience Fee if you wish to add a percentage service charge to the transaction total).
Super Items*
A Super Item is a flat charge that will appear on every completed form, regardless of what items are selected on the Items Page. This could be used for mandatory fees, services, convenience fees, etc. For example, a special event registration fee can appear in the list of charges on the confirmation page of a registration form, even though the attendee would never have seen a registration fee “selection”.  It will simply be listed and added to the total charges.
Beta Availability of Form Administration
It is now possible for you to perform some modifications to your forms yourself using our Form Administration Area. This functionality is currently limited to Beta Test usage for simple, common adjustments, such as:
  • updating the text for the email that is sent when a form is completed;
  • updating the form header graphic;
  • update GL codes.

WebLink Enhancements
All Text and Labels Are Now Customizable*
All text and “hard labels” on forms can now be changed, including the ability to change them into other languages. In addition, required field messages can be changed as well. For example, we can change the field name “Quantity” into Spanish “Cantidad.” It could also be changed to another word or phrase, such as “Number of Items”.
Auto "Checking" of Items
When any field associated with an Item has data entered into it, the checkbox associated with that item is automatically checked.
In the example at right, any entry in a field (such as entering $25 in the amount field) will automatically cause the corresponding selection box (next to Gift Information) to be checked. This enhancement should improve the completion rate of your forms as well as improving WebLink's ease-of-use.
New/Simpler WebLink Form Fees
Starting August 1st, 2008 we are changing the annual cost for WebLink forms so that each form includes up to 200 transactions per year at no charge. This simplifies the billing process and eliminates extra charges for the majority of our clients. Current forms will be billed at the revised rate at the time of annual renewal.
New Annual Fees are:
First form:
$480/yr (includes 200 transactions per year)
Additional forms:
