Alright, so let me just make sure that everything is working, it looks like we are recording that is fantastic. Nothing worse than getting to the end of a session and learning that it wasn’t recording. So, welcome to the webinar. My name is Kelly Ramage. And I am joined by my colleague, Josh Kolbert, and you are here for the webinar that we’re calling using DonorPerfect online forms to see higher conversion rates at the year end. So I hope that you’re having a great day, and a good strong finish or preparing for a strong finish for your year end. But one of the things that we’re hoping that you are going to learn and perhaps walk away with today is some of the value for our online forum. So before we jump into the strength of our online forms, I do want to just make sure that everybody knows who Josh is. So Josh, would you like to go ahead and introduce yourself? And
1:01
we’ll go from there. Sure. No, absolutely. So my name is Josh Cobra, I see some familiar names, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with some of you, if I’m so I’m just talking to and hopefully have the opportunity to engage with but your first time, pleasure to meet you. I’m one of the product managers here at DonorPerfect. And I’m actually in charge of both the classic forms that have been in existence for gosh, a very long time, as well as the new forms that we’ve rolled out. Actually, this will be, it’ll be two years in the springtime. So this is our second Giving Tuesday season end of your fundraising season, kind of going through with these new forms, we got a lot more mature than they were last year. And we’re really excited to have just a gangbusters end of year season that most importantly, helps all of you raise a lot of money and support your missions. So I’ve been with DonorPerfect for about, it’ll be six years in a couple months, which is pretty crazy. We’re really proud of what we’re doing. And we really hope that you’ll enjoy what you have to see today. And Kelly, I’m really excited to host Yeah,
2:00
absolutely. Absolutely. And for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kelly Ramage, I am one of the trainers here at DonorPerfect. And I’ve been with a company more than six years, I don’t need to put out numbers but a long time. And I do recognize many of your names. And I love having these opportunities to work with my colleagues, but also work with you to show case, some of the features and functionality that we have in our product. So we are focusing on online forms our new forms product. And as you can see, it has been kind of sitting here on the screen, some of the things that we feel are the strength of our online forms is they’re simple, they’re easy to use, and they’re effective. We’re gonna, you know, kind of support some of that as we move forward. But I’m hoping that in our demonstration, you will be able to see for sure points one and two of being simple and easy to use, because we are really trying to remove some of the barriers and make it a frictionless experience, not only for you designing the forms, but also for your donors. So what specifically are we going to be going over today? Well, we’re going to be going over some form highlights. That’s why you’re here, you’re here to learn about our new forms project. We will have like a demonstration or a walkthrough, we’re going to talk about some of the things that are next. And then we want to make sure that we carve out time to answer your question. So we will do a q&a at the end. A couple of housekeeping items that always are asked is Is this being recorded? Yes, you will receive the recording? Is there going to be a way to sign up and make sure that you have access to this new forms product? Yes. Is there a fee for the new forms product? No. So those are going to be my three questions that I suspect are gonna get asked. But if I didn’t answer them clearly enough, of course, please feel free to ask those questions.
3:54
I don’t know throw into that we’ve gotten through these webinars a couple times now is as was included in some of our Teaser Promo emails, but kind of kickstart and collect donations through PayPal and Venmo on these on these new forms. And the answer is absolutely. So we’ll be excited to show you that as well.
4:10
Absolutely, absolutely. And just a couple of things that I’m noticing is that yes, in this particular format, participants are muted. So the only people who can speak are Josh and myself. So if you have questions, there should be a little kind of box or button on the right hand side of your screen that you can expand and you’ll see an area there for sending out like this labeled questions and you can type in those questions. And Josh and I will try and answer as quickly as we can, if it’s relevant as we’re going through otherwise, we’ll wait till the end to answer them all together. So keep your questions coming. And let’s just go ahead and dive in to make sure that we give you that ample time to ask those questions and get what you need to move forward with our product. So one of the things that I am Super, super excited about is the fact that we have seen with our own data that people like you using DonorPerfect and our online forms product are having a high conversion rate of as high as 38%. And I don’t know if you know what the industry conversion rate for online giving is, but it’s not 38%. It’s probably I think, if I’m not mistaken, Josh, right around 17% this year?
5:28
Yeah, yeah, I mean, our benchmarks and if you’re familiar with them, they’re they’re a pretty well known benchmarking study in their nonprofit tech industry. And they do what they take conversion rate every year. And for 2021, they tracked over 10,000 forms, and they tracked the average conversion rate at 17%. So it’s obviously quite a bit below some of the really kind of pretty stellar results that we’re seeing here.
5:50
Yeah, so it’s something that we’re proud of. And we would love for you to kind of have the ability to take advantage of this, as well. Now, another kind of fun fact. And something that I am proud to share is a quote, We love hearing from you, we love hearing the good and the bad, and the suggested feedback and ways to improve. But I mean, really, when we’re talking about something that’s new, I think hearing from other people who are sitting in similar ceases yourselves probably carries more value to you than Joshua, I trying to convince you that it’s a good product. And this is somebody who is currently using our new forms product. And in you can read it for yourself, I am going to going to go ahead and read it. But we are really excited about the comments that have come through from our donors saying how easy and intuitive the form is, it’s honestly overwhelming how many people have said it. It’s such a drastic improvement from the older form referring to our classic forms. So you know, I don’t know about you. But for me, when I read this, I was like, this is really cool. This is really exciting to see that somebody is not only embracing the new forms, but their donors are providing them feedback. So Josh, would you like to speak a little bit about any other types of anecdotal information and comments you’re hearing?
7:06
You know, I think what I’ll say is really kind of probably expanding upon that, and I’ll give it some context, you know, we really put our classic forums, we definitely feel like you add a lot of value and obviously been around for a while, and they’ve helped men have you really achieved a lot of success. And we’re thrilled with that. When we built these new forms, we really did want to start with a donor in mind. And so what you’ll see kind of the demo is, you know, the donor experience, we think is a lot cleaner, a lot friendlier, a lot easier to complete for the donor. So that’s why when we see the conversion rates shooting up as high as they are, and we see a quote like this, where we actually have this chat and actually reached out to us directly. This is how excited she wasn’t. And the fact that it’s not just, you know, it’s so easy to build a form, which we think it is, but that our donors are so thrilled with it and that people are filling out a form. In the case of Poldark for many years, we’re saying, Oh, my goodness, this is so much easier. That gives us an early indication that we’re hitting the mark. And so I think that’s really where the direction of this form is going to kind of continue to go is, you know, how can we make it as easy as possible for donors to complete this donation page? Because ultimately, you know, we our success is predicated upon the success success of you all. And we believe that from an online fundraising perspective, the best way to do that is to really help increase every part may increase the odds of everybody’s visiting your page to make an increased donation, and so are increasing their donation. So quotes like this, and we have many others. This is personally one of my favorites, because it’s just, it’s so true to our mission. But these are the quotes that I think you can target can be pretty excited.
8:34
Absolutely, absolutely. Now, as we kind of think more specifically about some of the form functionality and some of the features, some of the things that we want to just kind of highlight at a high level just to kind of kind of paint the proper picture is that we have payment options that you’re familiar with, such as you know, your save, save credit card processing. But we also have familiar payment options, as Josh mentioned, such as PayPal, PayPal and Venmo. But we have not deviated from the easy to use experience for your donors as well as for you because these things are going to integrate with DonorPerfect so that you don’t need to deal with the download and import into DonorPerfect. So we’re really trying to expand what we know to be valuable to you and your donors. And then build on that with adding things like PayPal and Venmo, which we will speak to, as I mentioning PayPal, I do want to emphasize and I’ll say it again, but this is going to have to be a PayPal business account. So we’ll talk a little bit more about that as we move along. Some other things that we have found to be true and beneficial in forms and we have not gotten rid of it. In fact, we’ve built it up and made it better as monthly giving. We know that monthly giving our recurring Giving Program is a proven, like nonprofit fundraising strategy to help maintain To increase donor retention. So we also know that donors really want it to be convenient. So we have continued to provide solutions for you to offer your donors the convenience that they’re going to love. We have built into the form creation and easy way to translate monthly gifts into tangible outcomes, which we refer to as impact statements. And I’m going to demonstrate that in a moment. And we’re providing opportunities for more people to support you with monthly giving amounts, meaning you get to choose what those dollar amounts are. So it can be a true reflection of who you’re targeting and what it is that you’re seeking from your supporters. So I’m to, you know, kind of really valuable things. But a couple of other things that are highlights, and then we’re going to dive in to the details is drag and drop. I don’t know how many of you have experienced with our classic forms, but it’s not using the drag and drop you can you can create amazing forms, I don’t want to say that you can. But it’s not an easy experience. It’s not using drag and drop technology, easy branding, which we know is critical for like increasing and maintaining the trust that you have with your donors, embedding your forms, I’m trying to make this as easy as possible so that you can embed the form with any browser payment options, as I’ve already mentioned, and then a big one is tributes. Because we know I believe it’s like 38% of all donors who give online one to make the gift in memory or in honor somebody I don’t know if I’m right on the 38%. But that’s the number that stands out in my mind. It’s a pretty significant representation of donors.
11:41
34% guys just want us to be accurate. Yeah.
11:49
I absolutely thank you. I couldn’t find my note, I knew it was in the 30s. Together. But you can see from these forms, just the things that I’m highlighting that it we’ve really the team has really taken it very seriously to make sure that we’re incorporating the things that are important to you and to your donors into our forms. Now enough about the talk, let’s get into the product and do a little bit of demonstration. So I’m just going to scoot over here into DonorPerfect. And basically what we’re going to be doing is going to apps because that’s where online forms lives. And you are going to notice one of the questions that might be already coming in is, can we have both products, yes. And so we are focusing on the new products. So we’re going to go to apps online forms. And we have a descriptor here, which is called drag and drop form builder. And that is going to open up a front landing page for forms. And you can see that once this loads, it looks similar and yet vastly different, perhaps more modern, more current than what we currently have and refer to as our review and acceptance center. But what you’re going to notice is that you can see the existing forms, you can see that you are able to easily view it or take a peek at what it looks like you can share it and then of course, you can go ahead and edit forms, you’ll notice that you see some high level performance of your forms and the total dollars raised, you’ll notice that we are providing some assistance here and then the option of creating a new form. Now before I go in and start with a form from scratch, I’m going to go ahead and edit a form that I have started. And I just want to quickly show you a couple of things as we are getting started here that I did a little bit ahead of time. So you can see with giving Tuesday right around the corner that I’m choosing that as a bit of my theme, and I have the ability to easily drag and drop things as I’m hovering over my palette. It is very responsive, I am selecting an object and it is updating on the left to show me what options I have to kind of modify or refine what has already been selected. So what we’re going to do is I’m going to go back and start a form from scratch so you can see it from beginning to end. It just wanted to kind of give you a little bit of a sneak peek in terms of a somewhat completed form. So here I’m gonna go back here. Start over and I’m going to click on Create new form. So when we click on create a new form here we have two template options of just donation amounts or donation amounts plus impact. I’m going to go ahead and choose the donation amounts plus impact so that you can see how easy that is done. So I’m going to call this Giving Tuesday 2022 And I’m going to create form always helps when you click on the button. Alright, so here we go. We have a little bit of a guide. If I want needed otherwise, I’m just going to close that. So you can see on the far left hand side, I have four primary menu options, build style hidden fields and settings. And as I choose the different options, everything in the middle is updating. So I can kind of navigate from a menu angle, I can also just kind of scroll down and build my form from top to bottom. So I’m going to go ahead and select my image.
15:30
And I just I do that just I’m trying the questions, I’m seeing the same question over and over again. And it’s a good answer. So sorry to cut you off, I just want to call to toot. I’m seeing the same question twice. First of all, there’s if you missed initially, I know where I was, there was not a charge for this forum that I was demonstrating right now. It’s including your persona, perfect. And secondly, we’re seeing a lot of people ask how can I sign up, we will be circulating a form to sign up a few times. In fact, I’ll actually drop that into the chat now we’ll drop it into the chat a couple of times. So if you see the chat at the bottom, I’m going to drop that link in. If you sign up, if you enter in your information on that form, we will have you set up with these new forms this week. They are included in your subscription. If you’re looking under Apps, you will not seeing drag and drop form builder now like Kelly did. But if you complete that sign up. We will be set up this week. So sorry. I’m sorry to interrupt. I saw that question pop up so many times that I wanted to.
16:24
We’re thrilled that you’re asking the question. So once that is set up for you, you will have the same experience that I just showed you under the Apps menu until that is done, you will only see online forms you will not see like the sub menu popping out as Josh mentioned. All right. So I went ahead and created my form. And one of the things that I personally am super thrilled about is the auto saving. And you can see up here in the upper left hand corner that it is saving, and it will always tell me how long ago it was that it was saved. What I just did is I quickly grabbed an image that I wanted to use. And I have my alternate text. And now if I move on to a different element, it brings back my options to work with. And then within that element, I can choose to just go ahead and add a title note or I don’t want that I can remove it. So you can see oh, no, you can see that. Well, let’s there it goes. Okay, we’re gonna go ahead and remove it. It’s live training, it is what it is I’m expecting it. I’m just going to keep going because I have confidence we’re going to be able to get through this. So as you can see here, I have my picture. Now as I move down if I wanted to add a section header, and maybe I might be too comp overconfident here, it’s stuck.
17:46
Let’s try that again. Let me just close out of here.
18:03
These are always the tricky parts of a live demos, right? Well, you never know what we’re gonna have some fun.
18:10
Now never know what you’re going to encounter. Okay, so there it is, it didn’t get saved, I don’t know at what point, let’s go ahead and edit my form. And I have my image. And I’m removing my title. There we go. So who knows, I don’t know. But I was going to show you how to add a section header. So basically, what you’re seeing here in the bold is all the different options of what you could add to the form. So I’m going to go ahead and drag and drop. I’m attempting to drag and drop. There we go. And obviously, you would be far more creative and telling the story the mission inviting your your supporters as to, you know what it is that you’re trying to achieve. So you have section headers, you have titles, you can also add the script text, you can have additional images, so all of those elements are really just added to a form in the same exact way by dragging and dropping. If at any point in a forum, you don’t want it there or you want to move it to a different place, it really is just a matter of moving it around or using the trashcan. I’m going to use the form as my guide for creating this and we’ll go over all of these other options kind of one thing at a time. So I’m going to move to the dollar amount. So you can see when I click on that whole object of my dollar amounts, I have two choices one time and monthly. But as I did that, the Edit amounts also got updated. So you can see here that what I’m looking at are my monthly amounts. So I can change the amounts to be you know, whatever dollar amount would make the most sense for you. You can change the impact statements now As I go down, you’ll also notice that one of my dollars, or amounts has been suggested as a default amount, which we know is a proven kind of online form best practice for your donors, you don’t want to like give them that choice paralysis in terms of what how many choices we gave you up to five to choose from. And we also suggest that you make one a default amount, which one there, you know, you can make that decision. And Josh, I think there’s even some data that says it’s typically the third one in the list, I believe, if I’m not mistaken, but there’s a lot of data out there, that will really make the form experience very positive for your donor. As we move along, down here, you’ll notice at the very bottom, it says a mountain setting. So when I go to a mountain settings, I can make a few choices, I can change the heading. So I might want to say I want to support rather than I want to give as soon as I leave that is going to get updated. Right? Right now this form is both a one time and a monthly if I wanted to, let’s say make it only a monthly giving form, I can disable the one time amounts. All right, the other thing that I can do is I chose a template that had my impact statements, I can go ahead and change my mind if I wanted to and convert it to just the solid dollar amounts. Okay, so it’s really just using those sliders as I’m making the updates, everything is being reflected immediately. So I see exactly what it is that I’ve selected. The other thing that you should also be aware of is you do have the ability to add additional amounts or remove them, we do limit the number of amount options that you will provide to your donors. And I’ll just
21:56
jump in that too, because I was actually talking to a few classes in suggesting vote about this topic earlier. The reason why we limit the donation amounts to five and others actually based on on data, and they were referring to this earlier, both DonorPerfect, as well as the industry at large, have a lot of data that suggests that, you know, the Donate to conversion rate, and Kelly touched on conversion earlier really drops off when you go from that fifth option to a six or seven with the rate and it continues to drop off. And Kelly, you touched on it, it’s up to you know, paralysis by analysis is the same right? You know, if you’re showing donors six or seven or eight or nine choices, the data suggests a lot of times people will get you know, kind of, you know, overthink things and look maybe I should talk to my partner or somebody else about I’m actually I want to do it, I’ll go ahead and do it later. And they never come back. And so, you know, millions of donations is millions of donation history suggests that, that five plus another is the right route to go. And that’s why we that’s why we went that route of limiting it
22:52
by plus. Yep, absolutely. Thanks, Josh. As I moved down, and again, I’m using my form as a guide, you can certainly build your form using the manual options on the left, but I’m just using the form as my guide. And I’m now at the attribute section. So whenever you create a new online form, the tribute section is included by default. But if it’s something that you don’t want available on a form, then you can just go ahead and remove it. If you remove it and you change your mind, well guess what you can drag and drop and put it back into the form and all of these types of elements that we’re talking about can really be placed in any order as long as it is above its review donation amount. So some are certainly going to be much more logical higher at the top of the form rather than down at the bottom. But you do have some of that flexibility. So when we are looking at our tribute information you can see I believe it’s a lot easier to understand for the donor in terms of what kind of donation it’s in memory or in honor of who isn’t being recognized. You’d like someone to be notified and they can have multiple people that they would like to be notified. Alright, so again, I’m going to go ahead and leave that element there so that when I go and actually use the form you can see it in action. Now when I get down he’s the last guy this cold and flu season try and get through these
24:33
Thank you Dad
24:45
Hey, let’s try that again. I get myself on my own spit. Alright, so here we go. Tell us about yourself is basic information again, laid out in a way that is not scrolling on forever. This makes it beautiful for like in a mobile responsive experience. And you’re really just capturing the key information that you need because again, asking for too much information becomes a distractor. And that actually creates a barrier and potentially will, the form will be abandoned, you will not get a donation from that person. As we move down the form that brings us to our payment information. So this is going to use our safe safe. Credit card options that all of you are familiar with that is with like one of the things that will always be there. But we’ve also made it available for you to add PayPal, and along for the ride is Venmo. Now this has to be a PayPal business account. And basically, what you’re going to do is there’s going to be a button that says link, you’ll enter in your paypal business account credentials. And then you will get this message exactly as you see it on my screen. It is very straightforward.
26:11
Now
26:19
Josh, and I have done three of these. And we’ve always had a little surprise and each one of them, but it has never been me choking. So hopefully that will be the end of that. So as I was saying you would enter in your paypal credentials in your paypal business account credentials, it would bring you to a screen right here. And then you can choose whether you want it to be displayed with that slider right here up at the top as to whether you want that to be visible on your form. And I have this setup as a monthly only form, you can see from the messaging that it will not work. So what that means I have to go back here, I’m going to go down here to my amount settings, I’m going to make it a one time and monthly form. Now if I scroll down to my payment options, PayPal is now visible. So yes, you just saw in fact that PayPal is only at this point working with one time donations, but there is a lot of messaging that you will see as a reminder, but your donors will also see it as well, that it is only going to be available for one time and at this point does not support monthly donations. As we move down, you’re also going to see something that is very common in the industry. And that is the donor offset fees. Now it’s called a variety of different things in different platforms. In our classic forms, it was donor covers costs here, we’re referring to it as donor offset fees. And one of the things that again, that we’ve given you the option of doing is choosing the section header, and then also choosing the percentage as well as the maximum fee amount. So it’s something that you can if you will control exactly what those dollar amounts are. And you can remove that element if you don’t want it as part of your form. As we move along here, there’s my section header, we get down to the footer, and here’s where you would enter in the required information of at least an email address. So I’ll go ahead and enter that. And that is the basic elemental my form. Now that’s not everything we haven’t gotten into the styling. So now I’m going to come over here to the left, and I’m going to choose style. And here are our two options for the background color and the accent color. What I love most about this, and I admit it is I am a fan of this little eyedropper because I do not have a strong marketing or design background. But I can certainly click on an eyedropper, find the color that I prefer from my background, I can do the same thing for my accent button. So you can see very quickly, I have a background for color and I have accent colors. Now, I don’t know about you, but having your donors and mind is critical. But I as a trainer have you in mind and I want to try and make sure that you know that when a form is completed, that you don’t or shouldn’t have to edit each and every transaction that comes into DonorPerfect, you might want to review it and I’m going to show you how you can find those transactions in a report. But you shouldn’t have to go in and edit it and apply the appropriate coding values such as the campaign the general ledger, the solicitation and sub solicitation. So what we have in online forums going over here again to the far left in my menu is choosing the hidden fields. So since this is a Giving Tuesday form, I am going to want to assign corresponding values because that’s going to help in my financial reporting. So I’m going to select assign a code, and I’m going to see the existing codes that I have in DonorPerfect. So if there’s one that’s not in the list that you want it to be, you would have to go back potentially, and add it to DonorPerfect. And then it will show up. So I’m gonna go ahead and choose Giving Tuesday, donor won’t see that campaign field, I want to give the donor though, the choice in terms of their designation. And that typically is a general ledger. So I’m going to remove General Ledger as a hidden field that will come back to that in a moment. So that brings me to solicitation. So here’s where I can assign a code of Giving Tuesday. And then if you’re also using sub solicitation, you will go through a similar process. So the donor doesn’t see any of those values. But when the transaction is completed, it will absolutely show up in the donor record with those values assigned. So I’m going to circle back to the top and build and I’m going to talk about general ledger. So you know, you don’t need to say yes, me, me, me. But I’m sure in a crowd of this size, there are several of you that like to give your donors the option of choosing the designation of their contribution. So I am going to after the dollar amount that they select, I want to add a field where the donor can choose which account they want to designate their gift for. So that brings me down to the building section, but I’m looking at the different fields. So you can add a drop down field of your choice textbox memo or a checkbox. So I’m going to select drop down. And again, it’s using drag and drop. I just have to wait a moment to see where it landed, because apparently it’s not going where I expect it to go. There it is, it’s not in the right place. But we’ll move it will just work with it down here. How about that? Okay. Okay, so there’s my field. So what it’s asking me to do is to map my field. So I’m going to map my DonorPerfect field. And I’m going to choose General Ledger, because that’s my designation, that’s the the field that’s used for that type of value, I can change the label, if I want. I could make it required, I can choose a default value, and more importantly, potentially is the option at the very bottom where I can edit the drop down values. And so here are all of my existing choices in that field. But for this form, I don’t want to see all of them. So I might want to go through and hide some of these selections, because they’re not appropriate for this form. I’m gonna just go ahead and deselect a couple of these. And then what I might also do with my donor in mind is I might want to change some of these labels that they’re going to see. So you can see how I am selecting and working with the existing choices that are there. And then I also have an added option of adding a new code if appropriate. Okay, so then if I choose to add an option
33:22
is that easy. And then I’m going to update the drop down. And that’s adding a field, adding a field that is part of like an existing field. Now another option that we could do, let me go back here to build as I could potentially add a brand new drop down field that will appear on my gift page, so it doesn’t exist in DonorPerfect. So I can again, drag and drop, I’m just gonna try and my self in a better place. There we go. I’m going to map my field. But now instead of using the existing fields, I can choose Add New. So I’m going to call this let’s see, we’ll call this program and then the values that I want, so this is going to be the children’s program.

And I’m just going to remove that apostrophe because apostrophe sometimes can create problems. We’re going to call this the teen program and the adult program. And then I’m going to create my field. I’m sorry for the error messages. I’m not sure what’s going on with that, but I’m just going to have to keep going and working through but I think you’re following with what I’m doing here. If I were to go back to build, I can also see that I can add other types of fields so check box, maybe I want to make something anonymous, or maybe a meme field if I want to learn more about what they might be interested in, in all of these experiences, except for the drag and drop, what I’m going to be doing is going to be mapping a field drag and drop is the only one where I can map to an existing field, or I could add a new field. Alright, so that’s a lot about creating the form building the form. Last thing that I just want to mention, is making sure that you know that you can still customize the messages that you are sending to your donors. And that is going to be the confirmation messages, as well as the email messages. So that brings me to settings and I can see the customized confirmation page. And if I go there, it is opening up a window where I have an editor that I can work within, I can change what’s there. If you forget to do this, this is exactly what your donor would see when they’re completing the form. And you can see that I can embed URLs, I can also grab images that I might already have. So I’m just going to go ahead and grab a Giving Tuesday. Thank you, I can change the text if I wanted. All right, so you can see everything that’s happening here. And this happened to me once before I lost my update again. And you’re just going to have to take my word for that. So I’m going to close out of here. And I want to show you set up the thank you email. And one of the things that is vastly different between online forms and classic forms is that you have the option in our new online forms to not only customize a default email template, which you are familiar with filling in the classic forms, where you can say who it’s from, what the subject line is, and the message. What is very different and I think hugely advantageous is that if you have email templates already built in DonorPerfect, you can use those as well. So this is saying if a donor gives a gift with this form, they’re going to get this email message, which is actually the same one that is built here. Just encountering every sort of error possible, I am so sorry, folks. But you can be filled, you don’t have to build a new email template, because you can use the one that’s part of your DonorPerfect system. So what I want to do, let’s see, is I want to go ahead and try and publish this form. And then we’ll see if I get an error if it’s working. And if it is going to give me an error. I’m going to quickly try and create a new one. So Josh, if you want to field some questions while I publish this, let’s see what happens.
37:57
Yeah, I’ve been trying to answer some questions. I’m gonna go live here. So check that out. There you go. But I’ve answered them. All right,
38:03
this is looking promising. Yeah. Okay. All right. Okay, so we may not be completely sunk here. But let’s see. So here’s my form. Okay, so here’s my blue background, my image. And you can see kind of my disjointed form, I’m missing a few fields because I got a couple error messages, but I have my one time and monthly. Since I chose one time, I have my Pay Pal options. All right. So I’m gonna go ahead and fill this in and complete this, I’m gonna go ahead and give a monthly contribution of $20. And I am going to go ahead and give it myself
39:06
hey, if I wanted to make this in honor or in memory of somebody, somebody I’m going to check the box, I’d like to dedicate this gift here’s where I can make the choices of in memory or an honor of if I wanted to have someone be notified of that, I can go ahead and do that and then enter in the information. So since this is in honor of James Snell for some milestone in her life, I’m going to go ahead and let her know that this was done.
39:43
And then I can go ahead and enter in my payment information. Now one of the things that we are going to be drawing your attention to is this accessibility but yes, it is. There is accessibility there, which you may notice at the bottom
40:06
Okay, the option of covering costs, choosing my misplace designation field that is there. Now I’m going to go ahead and review my donation. So here’s my confirmation like saying, hey, you’ve made this per month donation is this correct, I can continue to donate otherwise I can return to donation form. I’m going to hit go ahead and choose donate. Here’s that. You just did something amazing. And if my confirmation message had been able to be saved, it was giving me a little bit of a hiccup I would have seen that Giving Tuesday. Thank you logo. But at this point, now an email has been sent to me as the donor and it is now in DonorPerfect. There’s no need to review it in the rack and there’s matching logic that you use. If it finds me it’s going to add a gift to my record. If it doesn’t find me based on the matching logic it will create a new donor record and then in this case, a new recurring gift. So DonorPerfect. Would you like to speak to this now? It doesn’t sound like it’s looks like you might be muted.
41:16
Not muted. Can you hear me?
41:18
Now we’re not able to hear you. Okay.
41:29
Okay, so maybe it’s just me. Okay, Josh, everybody else can hear. But I can’t hear you. So we’ll go with that.
41:35
So I will, I will just add that there’s two things you can add logic. We have logic that will allow for record matching and matches on email. The other thing I would add is that there is a kosher donation modal that donation modal we think is really important because the classic forms product, there was a separate donation confirmation page. And that confused a lot of your donors and eight of the nation was done wasn’t when in fact, that was not and so we’ve used that modal now to try to alleviate that step. So I’m gonna tell Kelly take it back. My apologies technical capital.
42:21
All right, so I don’t see Josh’s mouth moving. So I’m going to assume that he is good. And we’ll go ahead and continue. So this is just a fun, laughable webinar experience. Thank you for hanging in there with me. So let’s go ahead and continue and let’s go into DonorPerfect and I’m going to see if I can reload this
42:52
I’m excited that as I look at the chat, I’m seeing a lot of people asking when can they have access to this so that is super exciting. So now Oh, my goodness. Okay, so I don’t know what’s happening here. But let’s see. There’s my record. Okay, so well, that thought folks, let’s go back to my form. Give me a moment I’m going to see if I can figure out what’s happening here.
43:51
All right, well, that’s looking promising. So now if I go in here and I look for my record and don’t know what could have made it let’s see, I wonder where I’m at
44:18
hey, let’s try this again. I entered something and very different than what was in the record. So it may not match and it may have been my email that I entered incorrectly. But here is the record that was created because it did not match based on my email address. So that was my own fault entering in my email so that is part of the criteria. But you can see that here’s the record of everything that I entered as you were watching me by go to the pledges page is where I’m going to see that $20.60 cent recurring transaction with my coding the general ledger is what I chose. And then In the hidden field values of Giving Tuesday, if I go to the gifts page, I’m going to see that that was made as a tribute gift in honor of James Snow. Now, if I was interested in seeing other transactions, other gifts that were brought in, because you know, you’re not watching somebody do the entry, if you go to Reports and Report Center, what you will see is that there is a report called DonorPerfect donation form summary, where you would be able to look based on the time period of your choosing, or those transactions. These are going to be all the different transactions that were processed through your online forms. And one of the things that I see I think is incredibly helpful is that you’re also going to see the form name. So there’s no mystery as to which form the contribution came from. Now, I don’t know, Josh, if I’m able to hear you, but I’m going to continue and just kind of go through a couple of other things that I know you busy answering questions, is just a couple of other suggestions that are part of the product, but they really came to be because of your suggestions. And that is the ability to copy a form. The maximum amount for donor offset fees which I highlighted accessibility, which I mentioned, this was a huge request in need. And we’re thrilled that we’re able to offer that solution. The other amount only, in other words, you can get rid of the fixed amounts.
46:49
And have other only, so maybe for sponsorship or membership type scenarios, a monthly only form, then there’s some the mail to email in the form footer, renaming a form because what seemed like a good idea at the time may not seem to be so smart and you want to change it. And then the Select Deselect All for existing drop down field lists because we acknowledge that sometimes those values can be long, and it’s just faster and more efficient. And as we mentioned that there are the is the PayPal and Venmo options. So Josh, would you like to speak to any of the things on this slide?
47:29
Same Kelly you can. I’ll give you a shot when I’m done. But yeah, Pay Pal demo and pricing. We got some questions on these a lot of questions. Both are included. Kelly mentioned, you need a business account. Now for clarification, a nonprofit account in this machine at the same as a business account, it just it cannot be a personal account. But a nonprofit account or a business account will be totally acceptable to work. You can add your paypal business nonprofit account or directly through the form builder in new forms. And donations made through the new form will end up in DonorPerfect, the money will still be settled by PayPal. So you’ll still use your PayPal account for the financial portion of it. But the data will automatically end up in DonorPerfect. So that’s question one. Question two, I added a chat a couple of times, we’ll add one more time. But I do see seem frankly over 100 folks ask for access to the new product, which is exciting. The link and I’ll add it again in a minute, the Google forum link is the best way to sign up. Due to the volume. I’m talking about our onboarding team too. We are requesting you know through the end of the week to get you sign up, you’ll get an email from either myself or our support team by Friday with your instructions and account credentials to access this product, which again, is included in your package with us. As far as events and peer to peer forms and classic form functionality like surveys and signups and memberships and things like that. The classic form builder is filled out to go for now for 2022. For those types of use cases, the New Form Builder is strictly for donations at this point, but over the course of 2023 we will be tackling more of those types of use cases like events and memberships and things along those lines. In terms of what’s next I saw some questions. We’re going to be working on ACH bank accounts, branding in terms of text formatting, rich text editor, things along those lines, enhancing attribute functionality, and a lot more fun stuff to come over the course of 2023 for sure. But that’s just a little bit of a sneak peek. So Kelly, I’m gonna stop talking and take it away.
49:35
All right, Josh. Again, I’m trying to read lips by seeing the thumbs up. So I think that’s my cue to keep going. So, folks, just again, I know that we have you’ve asked lots of great questions and we are committed as a company to help you take full advantage of this great tool. I know that you know the today’s webinar is what was full of little hiccups and surprises. And hopefully that did not get in the way of you seeing the simplicity and ease of ways that you can build the form. And that we have really tried to take some of the feedback over the years and kind of build that into our existing product. And I hope that you are excited to give this a try. Josh, I would love to know which questions you answered, but I’m gonna have to turn it over to you for the q&a, and probably the wrap up, just so that we’re not overlapping each other. So I will just I’m staying here, and I’ll try and answer what I can and track along and but Josh, I’ll turn it back over to you.
50:44
That’s fine. Thanks, Kelly. Thanks, everybody. I know we have a couple of minutes left. So with that, I’ll reiterate thank you also for hanging with us through some of these technical difficulties. These things do happen live sometimes. So appreciate that. I put in the chat. But we do a record of these questions, I will make a point to reach out to everyone who asked the question, personally, within the last 48 hours, but I will make sure every question is dressed, you’ll hear from me on my email address, you’ll be able to continue to, you know, pick my brain and ask me questions I’ll make I’ve had and so I welcome your continued feedback and questions. So if I don’t get to your questions within the next five minutes, please know that I absolutely. Well. I am going to scroll through some other questions. Hopefully that little summary works out for you. I see some questions. I see questions. People say Hey, can I need to create a forum today? We’ll try and get you set up today. It may be you know, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, like I said the latest. A similar question I’m seeing what I’m trying to kind of pick on the questions in the five minutes are most common. So you do need to create a form from scratch. If you’re using our classic forms, you should wish all of you are you should know that this new form is including your subscription. But you didn’t just start a farm from scratch, there is no you know, carryover or migration. The good news there is is that, you know, as I think Kelly shown you, it’s really pretty easy to create a new form from scratch. And we’re seeing people create forms in two to three minutes. So hopefully you can do that. Another question that we’re getting a lot, and I want to drill down a little bit is the balance. And now two things. First off, PayPal owns Venmo. So even if you only have a PayPal business account, or if you’ve got a nonprofit account, as Kelly, thanks earlier, unquote, comes along for the ride. That means that your forms will include Venmo as well. That’s good news. A lot of people especially a lot of younger donors love paying with Venmo on their phones, those donations will show up a DonorPerfect the same as the PayPal over their initial email. And the money will be paid out by PayPal the same as a PayPal donation well, so I guess the point there really is that for the sake of this conversation, PayPal and Venmo are essentially one in the same if you have a PayPal account, you’re able to link your your your Venmo account, you’ll have a mobile as well. Let’s say you’ve got some other pretty pretty questions that Susan, you would ask the signup form doesn’t expire, you don’t have to sign up right at the second, if you want to talk with other staff members are showing us a little bit. You know, you certainly can sign up that explore more expire, you can sign up wherever you want. I’m also seeing a lot of questions around give, especially given the time here. And for other use cases, you absolutely can use both forms in conjunction with each other. So you can have a form for you know, the new drag and drop form builder and the classic forms, your classic forms will not be impacted by signing up for your new forms. And you actually can use use both. Let’s see, let’s see if I can find another pretty common question. Again, I’ll just reiterate because I’m seeing there come up a lot on Friday will be the latest lobby signed up. You may hear from a sooner than that. See if there’s some good ones on here. Let’s see here. A couple of things like I said, we will again, there’s where there is record matching, we will match on email, the donors email, we will get the matches, we will create new and we will merge that record DonorPerfect. And now we’ll create a new record by watching more common questions.
54:29
In terms of links, so this is a good one that Brian. So if you make changes to your form after publishing it, those changes will be contained within your URL. So you won’t have to worry about your URL change and it’s a pretty common question we get. So if your email is your form website, I’m sorry is WWE dot ABC donate.com And you go in and you change your suggested giving levels, that forms webpage will still be ABC donate.com or.org. In your case, they won’t have to worry about making any kind of changes or your URL disappearing or On your work? Let’s find one more go, Oh, great question. This forms can be embedded into your web page. And that’s challenging the platforms right now these new forms do work really well being embedded in your web page. We actually one of the other feature things we’re gonna be working on is further enhancing that embedded form experience. So there’ll be more to come on that. But I can tell you with great certainty that the embedded experience, as well as the mobile experience, we’re getting great feedback on that those are new forms are superior in that area compared to the existing forms. So with that, it’s two o’clock, I stop talking to konista shot the webinar. Again, I do apologize for some of the hairiness and bumpiness. I appreciate, we got a lot of great questions. And I’ll reiterate again, I will make a point to answer as many questions ideally, all these questions I possibly can. We have a lot of questions we have now well over 150 people signed up. So that’s exciting. Please do give our onboarding team the time through Friday to get you signed up. And when I reach out to you feel free to shoot me an email and I’m happy to engage in some conversation with as many of you as I possibly can. Thanks so much, Kelly. I’m gonna stop talking so you can see that it’s time to end the webinar. I really appreciate all of your great questions and engagement.
