DonorPerfect, the fundraising growth platform, has released its newest e-book, The Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women, in conjunction with International Women’s Day. The free downloadable book addresses the gender gap in nonprofit leadership. While they make up 73 percent of the nonprofit workforce, women hold only 45 percent of CEO positions, and are at the helm of only one in five organizations with annual budgets over $25 million. The workbook was researched and written by DonorPerfect to help close that gap by providing leadership insights and best practices from women who have taken the top job at nonprofits.

“The data shows that women are largely underrepresented in the leadership ranks of the nonprofit community,” said Emily Rose Patz, lead author of The Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women and Senior Copywriter at DonorPerfect. “This workbook is designed to proactively address this issue by helping women clearly define their leadership vision and create an action plan to make it a reality.”

The workbook consists of self-reflective exercises meant to help women working at any level in nonprofits showcase their leadership potential and develop their own growth plans. It provides insights into how to set goals, develop their skills, adopt mentors, build their personal brands, leverage their networks, and make powerful asks around what they truly want and need. The workbook is free and available for download at www.DonorPerfect.com/NonprofitLeadership.

The e-book was a collaboration of multiple women with celebrated nonprofit backgrounds, including:

Marcia Coné, PhD – As founding CEO of the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island, she successfully advocated for policy advances, including women’s leadership, representation, and paid family leave.

Cheryl Ann Wadlington – Recognized by the White House as a 2016 Champion of Change, Wadlington was honored for her leadership and work in developing extracurricular enrichment for marginalized girls through her nonprofit organization, Evoluer House.

Tycely Williams – A self-proclaimed matchmaker, she has inspired individuals and institutions to invest more than $84 million dollars in charitable causes. Currently, she serves as Vice President of Development for YWCA USA and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive.

Heba Mahmoud – Since 2010, she has worked at the Association of Fundraising Professionals engaging leaders from more than 240 chapters around the world. In 2018, she took the lead in launching the Women’s Impact Initiative, a program committed to creating an impact on the daily lives of fundraisers by breaking down workplace barriers.

Julia Murphy – She has dedicated her career to serving the LGBTQ community in Lake Worth, Florida by spreading awareness, promoting pride, and creating and celebrating safe spaces at Compass Community Center. “The Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women serves up an actionable & achievable plan to inspire women to lead with clarity, compassion and renewed confidence,” said Tycely Williams, Vice-President of Development at YWCA USA. Regardless of where you are or where you want to be—these tips will help you achieve or sustain your leadership success.”
